PRSA Dallas Pegasus Awards Recognize Communications Excellence





The Pegasus Awards recognize the most outstanding public relations and strategic communications efforts in the Dallas area and provide a constructive critique by an independent panel of judges for each entry. Members, non-members and students are invited to submit entries.

Window of eligibility: 12 months – July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017


Early bird deadline (members only):
5 p.m. Central, July 18, 2017

5 p.m. Central, August 1, 2017


Awards announced at UnSummit 2017: PR Deconstructed October 27, 2017

The Dallas Chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) today announced the winners of the 2017 Pegasus Awards, which recognize the most outstanding public relations and strategic communications efforts by Dallas area public relations professionals. The 2017 event was sponsored by Ketchum.

Winners were announced in a luncheon presentation during the second annual PRSA Dallas UnSummit, which drew nearly 200 public relations and communications professionals for a full day of keynote speakers with leading industry experts.

The Best of Show awards recognize the two most outstanding entries in the Programs and Projects categories, respectively, for their creativity and effectiveness in achieving goals and objectives.

The highest honors went to TrizCom Public Relations in the Marketing Communications/Associations/Government/Non-Profit division for “Heroes for Children's Milestone Program” and to Wendy’s with Ketchum in the social media division for “Wendy's "Nugg" Break Twitter History.”

PRSA Dallas President Melissa Flynn, APR announced the PRSA Dallas award winners, including individual awards for outstanding service. Cambria Jones received the Member of the Year Award; Katie Hill-Mudd received the President's Award for Outstanding Service to the Chapter; and Jef Tinsley was honored with the New Member of the Year Award.

Pegasus Awards, named after the iconic red Pegasus in downtown Dallas, serve as a symbol of public relations excellence in Dallas and North Texas. Awards were given in six categories of the Programs division, represented by multi-faceted campaigns that used several strategies and tactics to reach an objective. The winners were:
