PRSSA

Part of what differentiates a profession from an industry is the way knowledge, skills and abilities are transferred to the next generation of its members.

PRSA and, specifically, PRSA-Dallas are committed to the professional growth of students. The Dallas Chapter provides students from any collegiate setting with professional development opportunities:

  • Students can attend regular PRSA-Dallas Chapter meetings at a special student rate, resulting in an opportunity to learn from different program experts and to meet area professionals
  • Our annual Pro-Am Day matches public relations students with professionals for a morning, providing practical exposure to public relations strategies and tactics in a working environment
  • Members of the Dallas Chapter periodically post internship opportunities to the Joint Communicators' Job Bank, affording promising public relations students with opportunities for longer and more specific exposure to experienced professionals in a variety of hands-on settings
  • Beyond reaching out to public relations programs at colleges and universities across Texas, the Dallas Chapter has direct working relationships with faculty and student leadership of the PRSSA chapters at the University of North Texas and Southern Methodist University
  • The Dallas Chapter awards scholarships to key local, District and National PRSSA and PRSA conferences

PRSA-Dallas has created a bridge from student to professional status through the NuPros organization. New and recent graduates benefit from connections with other new professionals, many of whom have already extended their PRSSA membership to full PRSA membership at a preferential rate. See the membership section for more information.
