It’s officially back-to-school season in North Texas. Did you know PRSA Dallas sponsors three student chapters? We are proud to support PRSSA groups at Southern Methodist University, the University of North Texas (my alma mater!) and the University of Texas at Arlington. Our University Relations Committee – led by Emily Suied, a former PRSSA chapter president herself – provides direct support to these student groups and their leaders.
PRSA and, specifically, PRSA Dallas are committed to the professional growth of students. On the local level, we award scholarships for students to attend their national PRSSA conference. We also host an annual Professional-Amateur (Pro-Am) Day that matches PR students and professionals for a day of on-the-job shadowing and networking. Mark your calendars for this year’s Pro-Am Day on Friday, Oct. 11.
Want to know more about how you and your company can help PR students in our community? Drop me an email and let’s talk. And if you see any students at our programs this fall, give them a warm PRSA Dallas welcome. Your support could make a difference in their future success.

The Business of B2B Storytelling with Stephen Stokes of AT&T
Working for one of the world’s largest corporations, there is no shortage of great business stories to tell. But even the best stories can go unheard amid the crowd of other marketers shouting to grab buyer attention. With so many other businesses screaming to be heard, successful B2B communicators are building campaigns that are smart, not just loud.
Join PRSA Dallas on August 15 at El Fenix in downtown Dallas for a conversation with Stephen Stokes, assistant vice president of corporate communications with AT&T. He will discuss smart ways to tell an epic business story that places your customer at the heart of the narrative, authentically sharing why you do what you do, and connecting your values with theirs to create evangelists for your product, service and brand. Register online by Aug. 12.
